Who would attend this event?

Anyone looking for a community to share the Vision of Global Transformation on a collective and individual level.

Living Vision is best described by those who have been there, so in the words of Living Vision “Elders” themselves, here is what this gathering is about:

From Philip Clement, Living Vision 2009:

At this Retreat, Kathie and Paul source an authentic, heart-based environment where learning and healing thrive.  Professionalism at its best–> with heart!  If you’re looking for an envitonment where there is room for you… to be exactly the way you be, where who you are is all you need to succeed, where you can simply hang out in an authentic atmosphere of good will and creativity, and where you can possibly express a potential that may have been just a bit out of reach, this may be the weekend for you.  A taste for quality chocolate, kindred spirits, good music and having fund recommended, but not compulsory

From Winnie Beckerling, Living Vision 2008, Facebook Fan Page 2009:

I was part of Living Vision 2 years ago and every time I read the annual reminder of the next retreat, my heart goes “aaaaaah…I would love to go again!”  But I am a bit far away, living my vision in Africa!  Muchose love to you all from the South!

From Laura Appleton-Jones, Living Vision 2009:

I love the vids of last year being posted! It’s getting my primed for another Living Vision this year. The memories thru these links make me HAVE to come back!!!  Thanks for the inspiration. 🙂

From Lenka Leduc, Living Vision 2009:

Living Vision is a beautiful collaboration of many events into one! From the healing sounds of live music, singing and dancing, to the expressive playshop focused on manifesting one’s vision into physical reality, to the new potential and opening of Breathwork, to living lightly with laughing yoga, to embracing silence with the sounds of nature, receiving nourishing foods and nurturing touch, to feeling completely loved and accepted and having a lot of fun!!! This workshop gives you a taste of every bit of bliss that can be a part of your life on a daily basis, if you believe your dreams can come true – and I do!!! It brings a delicious flavor of the Vancouver conscious community and allows us to experience what it means to have a spiritual family supporting one another shining our light and reaching our full potential. What a wonderful place to meet like minded people and experience the pleasures of life within community and as a whole.

Thank you Paul and Kathie for all of your hard work that you put into making this Living Vision a reality! I am deeply grateful and profoundly touched.

Love and light,

Lenka Leduc

From Amrita Dhanji, Living Vision 2008:

Dearest Kathie and Paul

I woke up this morning and played Jerry’s Mool Mantra CD from the retreat…I didn’t want to return to my daily life but stay in the warm sanctity that you created over the weekend and bask in the loving energy that surrounded me. Thank you…thank you…thank you from the bottom of my heart for creating this amazing entity called Living Vision. It was transformational once again and I will take away important lessons from it that will help me align my values with what I go out to create in the world.

Kathie…you are magnificent…for staying so calm and grounded through all the madness and organizing…your smile and laugh is glorious and inspires me. Paul….what can I say?….when you hug me…I feel the coonectedness of our hearts and souls…a feeling of coming home…you are now officially family….as all the souls in the world should be to us.

Hey Paul and Kathie,

I meant to send this to you guys a while ago, but never got around to it.

Thank you so much. I am honored and blessed to have you in my life.

Living Vision for me…is amazing. It does scary wonderful things. I can’t tell you what it will do for you. It’s a secret. There are doors within all of us that we have yet to open and Living Vision provides the space and areas to open those doors. What lies behind the ones you open… that’s for you to find out.

For me, Living Vision was the culmination of my search. Not for answers, but for affirmation, and what I have come to know as inner peace. My life has been a maze, like the ones you find on a kid’s menu at a family restaurant or a child’s activity book. Each decision and choice I made searching for the right path. The path to where? I really didn’t know. Where were all these other people around me rushing to get to? They seemed to be running around with purpose. Maybe I’ll follow them. A six-figure salary sounds nice. So I followed them.

Turns out, they didn’t know where they were going either. I should have asked although I probably wasn’t ready to go against the flow anyway.

So there I was, thinking I was on the right path.. at times for years…only to hit a dead end… time to start over. And so the journey went, until this year, when I stopped following other people and went against the flow of traffic. It was pretty damn hard, sometimes it’s hard to pick out your heart in the middle of a crowd. But it seemed like the right thing to do, despite the struggle. And then… Living Vision arrived in the form of a booth on Commercial Drive. I picked up a brochure for some school that claimed to teach wellness and one for this Living Vision. What the hell, I’ll put my name on the mailing list as well. A guy approached me, he seemed sincere. Said “Hi”, and summed up his life in a sentence or two. He told me this wellness college was life changing, and that he had left a nice comfy job too. To pursue his passion, he said. He had attended the school. I wondered if he was a salesman. I shook his hand with definitive intention. His touch confirmed he was speaking from the heart. I realized I never got his name. “Paul,” he said. I smiled, thanked him for his time, and left it at that… But he did use the word passion; that’s my word. Normal people don’t toss that word around very much. This guy was different. Days would pass with those brochures and flyers laying neglected on random flat surfaces in my home.

My spiritual journey accelerated at warp speed now that the confines of a suffocating job where gone, and the beauty and serenity of British Columbia’s finest spots were allowed in. My pace quickened as I thought I was nearing the end of the maze, could this really be it? I took an eight day road trip to the Sunshine Coast and Vancouver Island. Four days at Shuswap Lake. Three days in Whistler. Four days in Seattle. Eight days back “home” in Florida. In between, I found out a lot more about Rhodes Wellness College. Could this place really exist? Is it legitimate? I sat in on a class, poured over the curriculum, and looked over the textbook list. This was the place for me. I registered, all the while, forgetting about Paul, his passion, and his Living Vision.

Fortunately, Living Vision didn’t forget about me. Paul and Kathie followed up with an email two days before I was going to Florida. I thanked them for the email and explained the variables in my life situation that weren’t conducive to going to the retreat, but I would have loved to attended. Kathie responded with some options I wasn’t aware of and I took a leap of faith. I’m supposed to be there. Trust Kathie. Trust Paul. Trust the Universe… and so I registered not knowing what was in store.

I made the final turn in the maze to find a group of people I had never met, never seen, but have felt all along. There they were cheering and welcoming me to the center of the maze. They shouted, “Welcome Gary! You did it! You found us!” before I could even realize I had made it. And so we celebrated, we talked, we sang, we chanted, and we danced…

boy, did we dance.

It wasn’t until the final hours of our retreat that I looked around again, to find that the maze had disappeared around me and we were all just surrounded by wide open space, free to go where ever and when ever our hearts desired. I’m not sure if the maze was ever really there, but all that matters now is the world around me beckons, and I have people to share it with.

Let’s go play.

From Greta Farina, Living Vision 2008

Kathie, I would like to thank you and Paul for putting on the Living Vision retreat. I know it was a lot of work and so much planning. I did not know what to expect but am thankful for the experience. Each day I benefit from the retreat – I knew I needed it, but did not know it would have such far-reaching benefit.

So thank you both. I look forward to the retreat next year, wish it were sooner.

Living Vision Retreat 2008

From Tannis Hugill, Living Vision 2008

Hello Paul and Kathie,

Once and forever more I thank you for the privilege of participating in such an amazing event. I learned this weekend that vision and the capacity to manifest are integrally connected with love. Your open, enthusiastic and trusting hearts created an environment embracing us all with such clear loving support that transformation was inevitable.

This quote came this morning so I send it on to you both…

A Splendid Torch

This is the true joy in life, the being used for a purpose recognized by yourself as a might one; being a force of nature instead of a feverish, selfish littl clod of ailments and grievances, complaining that the world will not devote itself to making you happy. I am of th eopinion that my life belongs to the whole community, and as long as I live it is my privilege to do for it whatever I can. I want to be thoroughly used up when I die, for the harder I work, the more I live. I rejoice in life for its own sake. Life is no “brief candle” to me. It is a sort of splendid torch which I have got hold of for the moment, and I want to make it burn as brightly as possible before handing it on to future generations. ~George Bernard Shaw, Man and Superman~

With so much love in return,

Tannis

Hi Paul and Kathie,

I want to thank you and everyone else that was at my first Living Vision Retreat, especially to Leah for inviting me, it was amazing. We did a lot of healing, as well as special moments. It was a bit hard once I got back into the other world but I just reflect back to the weekend and all is well.

Thanks again,

Living Vision Retreat 2008

From Jeanette O’Keeffe, September, 17, 2008

My partner Jonas and I had the pleasure of attending the ‘Living Vision Retreat’ in September of 2007. This was our first time participating in an event of this nature and our spirits were completely uplifted and nourished from the wonderful experience that we had. Not only did we have the privilege of connecting with many amazing and inspirational individuals, this retreat also facilitated us discovering a deeper connection to ourselves and our life’s purpose.

We were extremely honoured to be a part of the ‘Visionary Panel’ to share our vision of promoting kind action and non-violence to youth through our program ‘Kindness ROCKS’. We were extremely grateful for the space created for us to share our vision of Kindness ROCKS to a loving and supportive community. We felt that this was a very important launching pad for our dream and that the momentum of what we shared at Living Vision really helped to bring our vision into reality. In less than one year since the retreat, we received Corporate Sponsorship for ‘Kindness ROCKS’ and the show is well on its way to reaching thousands of children.

Kathie and Paul Scott are two of the most special, genuine and loving people I have ever met. I am very grateful for the support and positive energy they put behind our Vision of ‘Kindness ROCKS’, which is now a ‘Living Vision’.

Sincerely,

Jeanette O’Keeffe

Living Vision Retreat 2008

From Joseph “Pepe” Danza, Living Vision 2007:

My dear friend Paul, the organizer of the Living Vision retreat, told me a great story that spoke deeply to me… I’ll make it short and to the point: Two hunters had hired some villagers to take them into the bush to hunt. They were very goal oriented and kept on moving relentlessly toward their “prize”. At a certain point the villager party stopped and the hunters could not make them move no matter what they offered. When they managed to communicate with the chief they still were unsuccessful in getting the party moving. When pressed for an explanation, the chief explained that they had been moving too fast and they needed to wait right there until their souls caught up with them.

Lately I’ve been in the habit of, once in a while, humorously answering to the “how are you” question with “I’m not sure yet, I haven’t caught up with me”. I deeply love what I do and I am living the life of my choice, uncompromisingly doing the Work that I believe Spirit has brought me here to do. However, during the retreat I had a deep realization of how much, in this fast-paced world we live in, I am caught in my Warrior all the time. The armor is on full time, the ship is moving at maximum speed, and “you gotta do what you gotta do” or be left in the dust. I am pretty faithful to my morning yoga/work out, and Sound Healing practice, and most of my musical activities have merged with my spiritual life and the ever challenging quest for Total Human Beingness, but it took this amazing experience and absolutely wonderful group of people to reflect back to me the fact that within me I simply don’t feel safe enough to let my vulnerability show. Apparently I’m not alone in this experience. I have never seen adults let themselves go into their pain and literally howl their grief as I did last weekend. I had to ask myself when was the last time I had a good cry, and even though my beloved mother died just a couple of years ago unexpectedly and suddenly, I could not remember being able to take the space and time to grieve. I miss her so much…

The Living Vision experience fully allowed my Soul to catch up with me, cozy up next to my heart, and whisper her fondest wishes for me. It also allowed me to catch up with my grieving. As a teacher/facilitator, it provided me with a precious opportunity to work with a committed group of people that were fully and immediately ready to Show Up. It allowed me to fully experience the radiant beauty of being human, the power of community, and the gift of unconditional love.

Paul, Kathie and all the organizers, facilitators, volunteers and participants of the weekend event created the safest, most sacred, and loving environment I have experienced in a very long time. The goal of the retreat is to allow the participants to envision and cultivate their highest calling on this Earth, and also to create a supportive community that will be there for you fully when you are ready to manifest that Vision. From the accounts of past participants and my own experience, I bow down to them in respect and gratefulness. There is hope for Mother Earth and Humanity as more and more people are allowed the opportunity to align themselves with their Soul Work.

I can’t recommend this experience enough. I will surely be there next year both as facilitator and humble student, and until then I will lovingly work toward the manifestation of my own Vision, and my role of Healer on this Wounded but ever so beautiful Mother Earth.

Ashe!!!

Living Vision Retreat 2008

From Anne, Living Vision 2006

It’s been almost a week since our sacred gathering at Sasamat Lake, and thoughts of our deep heartfelt connections just seem to pop up anywhere anytime. This was my first ever retreat and what an awesome one all of you created! Many, many thanks for all the time and energy you devoted to raising our spiritual consciousness; here are a few (of many) highlights: your attention to detail such as a wrapped and ribboned almond roca candy on each bed!, designing and creating a sacred labyrinth, organizing such a wonderfully caring panel of visioneers, planning a tasty and healthy menu, and the manner in which I was received and welcomed for the Silent Breakfast. (Thank you Frank for being my personal waiter). Feeling so honored and so worthy still brings on the tears. Philip, thanks for beginning and ending the weekend with the ‘flowing’ circle. It felt as though we were a net of light, and as we moved toward the centre, our strength increased; it seemed as if we realized that we are a part of something bigger than ourselves – and we became that part – for the good of all.

Two additional things that made this weekend so memorable are: kudos to all the guys for being there (only a hand full of guys normally attend the functions I go to) and kudos to the younger set for being there. Didn’t realize I was the second oldest person there until I came home! But then aren’t we all ageless in this coming new age???

The openness and authenticity was profound….such magnificence!

Looking forward to reconnecting with you lovelights! Yes, I will attend the next coming together. Until then, I’d like to wish all of you a very Happy Thanksgiving! I, for one, have so much to be grateful for.

Living Vision Retreat 2008

From Kathie W., Living Vision 2006

What I witnessed at the Living Vision retreat was, what I call, whole Being moving as whole Being. For me, this was an extraordinary experience of ordinary people healing ordinary people. I witnessed 70 people living in-depth reality, deeply honouring and truly loving each other. I witnessed 70 people seeing each other from the depths of Being. I witnessed amazing personal transformations as people woke up, and stepped up in their courage, with no doubt, to own and dance their shadow pieces well and transform them. I witnessed 70 people hold each other in a healing energy embrace: a grounded, alive, moving field of energy with a set intent of feeling wisdom, power, and compassion. This field effect supported and affected this critical peace work of transformation. It wondrously unfolded in circles of completion with the waves of gratitude that flowed from everyone. I call this experience the Christ consciousness manifested.

When I recall this weekend of true magic, “Every little cell in my body is happy and every little cell in my body is well.” Let us reproduce it again and again and again and……………..

In Joy!

Living Vision Retreat 2008

From Cassandra, Living Vision 2006

The Retreat at Sasamat Lake was so amazing I am not hesitating to go back again. I know it is right for me and anyone fortunate enough to hear of it and know something wonderful is brewing. The retreat that I attended in September (2003) is one of the best memories I have. I was changed dramatically by this experience of opening and witnessing others who shared an urge to open their hearts, and who did so. We cooperatively provided a safe space to reach new ground within, surrounded by nurturing energy that somehow surmounted all barriers…

Amazingly, there are many people I met at that retreat who are still favourite people in my life and others who I see from time to time with whom I am bonded because of the wonderful experienced shared. We all took one giant step forward and we love recalling changes that we made, as a direct result of our time together. All this plus a beautiful serene lake, cozy cabins and food that told me we were cared for and loved by those whom we did not even see.

Paul is a magnificent creator and he was a large part of this sanctuary creation. Without a doubt, because he is launching this new opportunity for growth, I will be there…”

Best and Congratulations!!!

Living Vision Retreat 2008

From Larry, Living Vision 2002

Ordinarily one writes a testimonial in those heady moments immediately following a retreat or workshop when you think you’ve been given the tools to change your life, or you’ve met that special someone. Invariably neither proves to be true. However, I am inspired to write now because I recently attended a party where I met up with a dozen people from the retreat I attended 4 years ago. Now, this wasn’t an alumni party or a contrived attempt to hold a reunion, this was a real community of people actively engaged with one another. And unbeknownst to me, I’m part of it. Just by attending a weekend retreat, I am part of a community.

The only explanation for that is that the retreat created a space for dedicated play and we saw each other for who we are — real people experiencing each other’s realness, from joy to sorrow. It was more than a process workshop, we actually created a future to step into with the support of community.

So, if you want to celebrate life like you’ve never done before, if you want to have so much fun you don’t want to go to sleep for a couple of nights, if you want to connect deeply with people, then take this workshop and create a community which both supports you and calls you forth.
